Ecobrick Initiative – Turning Waste into Wealth

Turning Plastic Waste into Purpose.Students and volunteers convert plastic waste into eco-friendly bricks, building structures while spreading awareness on plastic pollution and sustainable living in Perambalur through DAWN Trust’s initiative.

DAWN Trust has creatively addressed the challenge of plastic waste by implementing an Ecobrick construction project, demonstrating how destructive waste can be transformed into constructive wealth. This initiative not only reduced plastic pollution but also created eco-friendly and economic-friendly infrastructures for the community.

Program Highlights

🧱 400 sq. ft. Ecobrick Room constructed
🪑 2 Eco-benches installed at Government Hospital for public/attenders
🏫 School Park Wall & Furniture created using Ecobricks
♻️ 1,500+ PET bottles recycled into Ecobricks
🌍 Plastic collected from homes, shops, marriage halls, political meetings, TASMAC outlets
👩‍🎓 Active student participation – contributed time and effort to safeguard Mother Earth
